The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. VIII (MGB RO8) recently issued Industrial Sand and Gravel Permits (ISGPs) for permit holders in the region on June 4, 2021.
New ISG permit was granted to Mr. Alberto Barola whose permit area covers 7.5592 hectares with a validity period of five (5) years and authorizes the permit holder to extract and dispose sand and gravel and other consolidated materials from its permit area located at Layog River, Barangay Pinamonoan, Mahaplag, Leyte.
Meanwhile, ISG permit was likewise granted to RAS Construction by Abigail Therese Salazar for its 4th renewal. The permit area covers Daguitan River at Brgy, San Pablo, Burauen, Leyte with a total hectarage of 17.7394 hectares.
The permit holders are required to ensure faithful compliance with their obligations under the Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC), Environmental Protection and Enhancement Program (EPEP) and Annual EPEP including the allocation of prescribed annual environmental expense pursuant to Section 171 of the Revised Implementing Rules and Regulations.
They shall likewise maintain a Monitoring Trust Fund of not less than P150,000.00 and a Rehabilitation Cash Fund of at least 10% of the approved EPEP including the required EPEP, AEPEP, Social Development and Management Program (SDMP) and Annual SDMP within the duration of the permit.
