The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. VIII (MGB RO8) has recently issued two (2) Industrial Sand and Gravel Permits (ISGP) to permittees in the persons of Messrs. Jerry M. Lanoy and Leigh L. Molina, both for second renewal.
The ISGP of Mr. Jerry M. Lanoy was issued on February 1, 2021 covering an area of 11.8627 hectares, located at New Bito River, Brgys. Manlilisid and Malitbogay, Javier, Leyte.
The ISGP of Mr. Molina was likewise issued on February 1, 2021 covering an area of 7.2332 hectares located at Layog River, Brgy. Himamara, Mahaplag, Leyte.
The ISGP has a validity period of five (5) years and it authorizes the permit holder to extract and dispose sand and gravel and other unconsolidated materials from the permit area. However, they are required to install a processing plant or enter into an operating agreement with an owner of existing processing plant within six (6) months upon the issuance of the permit pursuant to Section 72.b of DAO-2010-21 and Section 36 of Mines Administrative Order No. MRD-27, Series of 1980.
The permittees were reoriented by the Technical Divisions of the Office of the terms and conditions of the permit as well as the responsibilities expected of them as permit holders.
