The MacArthur Iron Projects Corporation (MIPC), one of the priority mining projects tapped by the government to help the economy which is adversely affected by COVID-19, has inaugurated its dredger and magnetic separator plant and started its debugging on September 28, 2020 at Brgy. Maya, MacArthur, Leyte.
The event was attended by stakeholders, particularly, local government unit officials.
In his message, RD Leo Van Juguan emphasized that the mining industry cares for the environment and that it always delivers especially in its commitment to help. He added that MGB-08 will likewise ensure that responsible mining will be pursued by the company in its operations.
MIPC’s processing plant has 4 thousand tons of iron sand for debugging purposes and is expected to process 8-10% of its feed with a cut-off grade of 50. Its process is physical separation of magnetite concentrate from raw sand via magnetic separators and sieve screens.
