The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. VIII showcased it services to the public particularly, its geohazard mapping and assessment program during the Duterte Legacy: Barangaynihan Caravan Towards National Recovery in Baybay, City on April 26, 2022.

During the said caravan, MGB-08 shared booths with DENR-08 and EMB-08 from which basic services and programs were displayed. MGB-08 for its part, distributed flyers, posters and pamphlets on rain-induced flood and landslides and #MineResponsibility IEC materials.

Geologsit Mariel Tuonan also answered questions from LGU officials and some Baybay City residents on concerns regarding landslides in their respective areas following the landslide incidents that occurred in some barangays due to Tropical Cyclone Agaton.

The Duterte Legacy Caravans are held in all regions of the country during the entire month of April by the Philippine National Police as part of its Community Relations Program. It is intensified through the Integrated Sustainable Assistance Recovery and Advancement Program (ISARAP) which aims to ensure aid and support to people in time of emergencies like the current Covid-19 pandemic.
