In a series of consultation meetings with mining stakeholders by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB), the need to come up with effective policy reforms in the mining industry has been strongly emphasized.
In the joint consultative meeting on mining concerns in Central and Eastern Visayas, various presentations on the status of priority projects as well as discussion of mining issues and concerns, particularly those of the Mineral Production Sharing Agreement (MPSA) holders in both regions, were highlighted.

The meeting was attended by DENR Acting Secretary Jim O. Sampulna, DENR Assistant Secretary for Finance, DENR Finance, Information System and Mining Concerns Engr. Nonita S. Caguioa, MGB Director Atty. Wilfredo G. Moncano, EMB Director William P. Cuñado and other DENR and MGB regional officials, division chiefs and staff.
The meeting was held at the Waterfront Hotel Lahug, Cebu City, March 30, 2022.
