The Philippines Statistics Authority is celebrating this October 2019 its 30th National Statistics Month. The MGB-R08 joined and conducted activities in participation to the celebration of this event.
On September 29, 2019, eighteen (18) MGB personnel took part in the DTI-PSA Fun Run which was held in Tacloban City. The MGB-08 also attended the opening ceremony of the 30th NSM last September 30, 2019 at Robinson’s North Tacloban City and submitted an infographic relative to some of data gathered and processed by MGB-RO8 as part of PSA’s Data Garden. Further, Ms. Ennah Ambe, Mr. Jay-r Amoyo and Ms. Abegail Pastolero, joined the Scrap Stat Poster Making Contest conducted on the same date.
On October 2, 2019, MGB-RO8 organized and conducted a seminar on “Understanding 1:10,000 Scale Geohazard Maps” at Leyte Normal University, Tacloban City as its major activity in participation of the NSM. The seminar was attended by students currently taking up Geography subject and some faculty members from the Social Sciences Department. Geologist Rodrigo Jay Miralles highlighted in the seminar the nature and causes of landslides and floods, and taught the participants the basics of map reading.
