In a special meeting with the Provincial Government of Leyte, the Mines and Geosciences Bureau RO-8, sought to establish consensus on some mining issues and procedures in the issuance of permits and apprehension and confiscation of illegally-sourced mineral products.

In the said meeting, RD Raul Laput also discussed the need to nominate from the NGO, small-scale and large-scale mining sectors, representatives to the Provincial/City Mining Regulatory Boards (P/CMRBS).

Such nomination is among the supporting documents required for the issuance of the P/CMRB Special Orders to be signed by the DENR Secretary.
